Rochester General Hospital offers a variety of volunteer opportunities that include:
- Reducing confusion by walking and/or wheelchair assisting them to where they need to go
- Keeping a patient company by sitting at the bedside with a patient who might otherwise be alone
- Responding to patients' comfort needs with an extra blanket, warm washcloth, pillow, etc.
- Brightening a patient's day with a flower delivery
Requirements
- Be at least 14 years of age, and graduated 8th grade
- Make a commitment of 3-4 hours per week for at least three (3) months
- Complete online application, interview, health screening, and orientation

Twig Association
The Twig Association Volunteer Services Committee assists the Manager of Volunteer and Guest Services at RGH to further the volunteer program, strengthen existing services and develop new services for over 500 volunteers. The Committee sponsors and helps arrange the Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon and provided funds for new volunteer uniforms.
Volunteer Services also provides programs to support the emotional and personal needs of patients and their families, including a Canine Visitation Program, a Friendly Care Program, and a Reiki Program.
