About Canton-Potsdam Hospital (CPH)

Canton-Potsdam is a not-for-profit community healthcare facility certified for 94 beds. Its core programs in emergency medicine, acute care, hospitalist medicine, and critical care are supplemented by outpatient health services in Brasher Falls, Canton, Colton, Gouverneur, Massena, Norfolk, and Potsdam, NY. Furthermore, care is provided in over 25 different specialties, including a robust orthopedic surgery and sports medicine program, and the Center for Cancer Care. 

Canton-Potsdam Hospital received Level III Trauma Center Verification in 2018 and is currently the only center of its kind in St. Lawrence County. Level III Trauma Center Verification means we have met nationally recognized standards in providing care to the most critically injured patients, with monitoring of care, and processes in place to continuously improve the care provided. CPH is fully-equipped to provide rapid and thorough trauma care to adults involved in severe car and motorcycle accidents, gunshot wounds, stab wounds, traumatic brain injury, burns, and falls.  When time is of the essence, it's good to know that trauma care is close to home.

CPH also offers a Critical Care Unit, and is a Certified Primary Stroke center.
