Whether you're seeking diagnosis, treatment, or ongoing care, we've got you covered.
TR happens when the tricuspid valve on the right side of the heart doesn’t close properly, allowing blood to leak backward from the lower chamber (ventricle) into the upper chamber (atrium) making your heart work harder to move blood through the valve.
Causes and risk factors include congenital heart defects, prior heart infections, certain cancers, chest injury, irregular heartbeat, suffering a heart attack, among others that a physician can use to help diagnose. TR worsens with time and often doesn’t show symptoms until the condition is severe.
With TR, you may have shortness of breath or feel weak, among other symptoms which can seriously affect your quality of life. TR can lead to heart failure if left untreated.
It is very important to discuss any symptoms of TR with your physician.
Symptoms usually depend on the severity of TR, which ranges from mild to moderate to severe. They include:
Are you experiencing any of the above symptoms and believe it may be due to TR?
There are several treatments and procedures available for TR:
Most valve conditions can’t be treated with medication alone. Once a heart valve condition begins to affect the heart’s ability to pump blood, it's likely to require surgical repair or replacement. RRH offers cutting-edge transcatheter tricuspid valve interventions (TTVI) as promising alternatives for patients with severe TR: The treatment options below may be available to candidates who fit certain criteria.

Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (also called TriClip) offers a minimally invasive treatment for patients with symptomatic severe TR, for whom transcatheter edge-to-edge valve repair is clinically appropriate.
TriClip is delivered through a vein in the leg, is a minimally invasive way to repair the tricuspid valve, and can improve quality of life for people who would otherwise remain untreated.
The EVOQUE Tricuspid Valve Replacement System is a device designed to fully replace a damaged tricuspid valve without open-heart surgery.
The valve is implanted using a minimally invasive delivery system where your doctor places a thin tube through a vein in your leg to reach your heart and perform the valve replacement procedure.
