Shoulder Replacement

Enhance Your Range of Motion with a Shoulder Replacement

Shoulder pain shouldn't hold you back from reaching your full potential. At Rochester Regional Health, we specialize in shoulder replacement surgery that not only relieves pain but also enhances your range of motion and daily function. Whether you're dealing with arthritis, a severe injury, or chronic discomfort, our skilled orthopedic surgeons are here to provide the advanced care you need, helping you move forward with confidence, ease, and renewed energy.

Our Approach to Shoulder Replacement Surgery

We start with a thorough evaluation of your condition, including detailed imaging and assessments. We collaborate closely with you to develop a customized treatment plan, ensuring you understand each step of the procedure. Our surgical techniques are minimally invasive whenever possible, reducing recovery time and enhancing results. After surgery, our dedicated rehabilitation team will work with you to regain strength and function, guiding you every step of the way to a successful recovery.

Conditions We Treat

Our orthopedic specialists diagnose and treat a wide range of shoulder conditions that may lead to the need for shoulder replacement, including but not limited to:

  • Avascular necrosis (osteonecrosis)
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Post-traumatic arthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Rotator cuff tears
  • Shoulder fracture

Our Services & Treatments

Best suited for patients with a damaged ball joint whose shoulder socket remains intact. The benefits include quicker recovery times and less extensive rehabilitation compared to total shoulder replacement.

Ideal for patients with advanced osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or other conditions that affect both the ball and socket of the shoulder joint. The benefits include comprehensive pain relief and restoring full function of the shoulder. This surgery is known for its high success rate and ability to significantly improve patient’s quality of life.

Recommended for patients with severe rotator cuff tears that cannot be repaired, or for those with rotator cuff tear arthropathy. This procedure reverses the normal ball-and-socket structure, enabling other muscles to compensate for the damaged rotator cuff. It improves shoulder stability, reduces pain, and enhances the range of motion, especially in lifting the arm overhead.

Necessary for patients who have previously undergone shoulder replacement surgery but are experiencing complications, implant failure, or persistent pain. The goal is to restore function and relieve pain by either repairing or replacing the existing implant. This procedure can significantly improve outcomes for patients who have not had success with their original shoulder replacement.
