Tammy Snyder, MPH, President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Rochester General Hospital (RGH), has been named among the nation’s “Rising stars: Healthcare Leaders Under 40” by the influential publication Becker’s Hospital Review.

The Becker’s Healthcare list identifies 67 next generation leaders whose focus on development, innovation, and improved outcomes is enabling their organizations to thrive at a time of substantial industry change.

Ms. Snyder joined RGH in 2022 as COO and was promoted to President in June 2023. Under her leadership, RGH has improved efficiencies, increased hospital capacity and throughput, and improved quality and safety.

“Tammy Snyder is a transformational leader and a key member of Rochester Regional’s executive team,” said Richard “Chip” Davis, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of Rochester Regional Health, RGH’s parent organization. “We appreciate this industry recognition of her central role in proactively shaping the future of American healthcare.”

Prior to joining RRH, Ms. Snyder served in executive leadership roles with Weill Cornell Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City and Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine. She holds a master’s degree from Yale University Yale School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Administration from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“It’s an honor to be spotlighted by Becker’s, a publication widely respected for addressing the most critical issues in American healthcare today,” Ms. Snyder said. “We strive every day at Rochester General Hospital to pursue healthcare excellence. I am proud to contribute as a collaborative leader partnering with Rochester Regional Health’s executives, physicians, nurses and our other team members to build a robust organization delivering the best possible care for our patients.”
