Adjusting to life with respiratory challenges and breathing with the assistance of a ventilator can seem both limiting and overwhelming. That’s why helping every person achieve the best possible quality of life is at the center of our ventilator care program.
From individualized care plans to ongoing support, our multidisciplinary approach is designed to maximize our patients’ functional and psychological capabilities for continued overall improvement in their health and well-being – and to ultimately eliminate the need for mechanical breathing support.
Whether at our Unity Living Center or Clifton Springs Nursing Home location, each program includes:
Our Unity Living Center location also offers convenient access to the RTS bus route, private rooms, and ventilator-accessible shower facilities, while our Clifton Springs location offers a variety of private and semi-private rooms, along with a Pathway to Excellence Accreditation.

“During my time at Unity Living Center, the food was good and the care was excellent. The therapists from the respiratory, physical, occupational, and speech teams were outstanding. They were so helpful, never let me give up, and were always willing to go the extra mile… I feel like I beat the odds, but I could not have done it without the team at Unity Living Center.” – Richard K, former short-term resident
“When my sister was at Unity Living Center, the staff was so caring and friendly, the therapy was excellent, and they worked extremely hard to meet the goal of getting my sister back home.” – Kay H., sister of former short-term resident
“When my husband came to the Clifton Springs Nursing Home for rehab, I was so pleased and surprised to see how thorough the staff and services were. All of the nurses and aides have been wonderful.” – Sharon W., wife of resident
