Helping those with chronic kidney disease
Our comprehensive services include outpatient in-center hemodialysis, home training and support for both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis as well as inpatient dialysis at our hospitals. The service is supported by a staff of board-certified nephrologists, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified dialysis technicians, social workers, dieticians and administrative personnel.
With four comfortable, state-of-the-art facilities, conveniently located in downtown Rochester, Spencerport, Greece and Chili Center, our compassionate staff provides dialysis treatments that meet the highest medical standards.
Working with the physicians of Rochester-based Nephrology Associates, we offer individualized care through the use of a multi-disciplinary team approach. Our physicians, nurses, dietitians, and social workers routinely meet with patients to develop and refine a personalized treatment plan for each patient.
We provide in-center Hemodialysis services for patients with acute renal failure and chronic end-stage renal failure while utilizing the most current advances in dialysis, including:
- State-of-the-art dialysis delivery systems maintained on site by highly trained technicians.
- High flux dialysis (large pore membrane dialysis), featuring the most advanced membrane technology.
- Extensive reverse osmosis systems with water purification techniques and requirements that meet stringent state and federal standards of purity for water used in dialysis.
All treatments are administered by experienced, highly trained nurses familiar with the latest dialysis treatments.
At-Home Dialysis
There's a better way to receive dialysis care for chronic kidney disease - right from the comfort of your own home.
Home dialysis eliminates the need to shuttle back and forth to the clinic for treatment three times a week. It also offers a more flexible and independent lifestyle and therapeutic benefits that may reduce the need for as many medications, and, in some cases, the advantage of receiving treatments while you sleep. Rochester Regional Health is proud to be the Greater Rochester region's first provider of Home Hemodialysis and offers several at-home methods that are safe, easy to learn, and more effective in getting blood clean, which means you'll feel better.

Peritoneal Dialysis
Peritoneal dialysis is available at several of our locations. Instead of using a machine, this type of dialysis uses the abdominal lining, called the peritoneal membrane, to filter blood. A cleansing solution, called dialysate, is infused through a tube inserted into your abdomen. Fluids, wastes, and chemicals pass from the tiny blood vessels in the peritoneal membrane into the dialysate, which is then drained after several hours.
