Marla B Bruns, MD, PhD

Since moving back to Rochester, Dr. Bruns's hometown, she is pleased to have joined a group of providers committed to offering comprehensive memory care to the community. We are comprised of two cognitive neurologists, a nurse practitioner, two neuropsychologists, a social worker, and several integral support staff members. She strives to apply all her clinical training from the Mayo Clinic to recognize difficult to diagnose dementia syndromes and help educate families and caregivers about diseases, treatments and prognosis. Dr. Bruns also provide general neurology outpatient care for headache disorders, neuropathy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, and stroke - among other neurologic diseases. In addition, she provides inpatient neurology consultation coverage and stroke alert management on a rotational basis with her partners for Unity Hospital. She is also spearheading a collaborative effort with the Alzheimer's Association Rochester & Finger Lakes Region Chapter to provide a support group specifically for persons living with Lewy body dementias and their caregivers. She enjoys the community outreach and educational opportunities she is afforded in her role at the Memory Center at Unity. She also enjoys serving as a preceptor and mentor to the internal medicine residents on their neurology rotations at Unity Hospital, and being invited to lead some of their didactic programs and case conferences.
