Dr. James Foster is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of adult hip and knee arthritis. His practice ranges from the nonsurgical management of arthritis to partial and total knee replacement, total hip replacement, and revision hip and knee replacement surgeries. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, and performs total knee replacement surgery through a surgical approach that spares the quadriceps tendon. He also performs the majority of total hip replacement surgeries utilizing the muscle-sparing direct anterior approach to the hip. He believes that minimally invasive techniques improve his patients’ ability to mobilize quickly after surgery, which is a key component in achieving early recovery and optimal functional outcomes.
