He earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by a Family Medicine residency in Binghamton, NY. From there, Dr. Day traveled to Virginia Tech University and Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine to complete his sports medicine fellowship. He worked closely with both the Virginia Tech and Radford University teams, taught at the medical school, and contributed to their cutting edge helmet research.
After his fellowship, Dr. Day practiced at the Greenbrier Medical Institute and Resort in West Virginia, practicing primary care sports medicine. During his time at the Greenbrier, he was also responsible for the medical coverage of the PGA, had exposure to providing medical for the NFL, and covered professional tennis events. Over the years, Dr. Day was also able to provide medical coverage and travel with the U.S. Olympic Ski and Snowboard team.
Dr. Day specializes interventional orthopedics and sports medicine for non-surgical and minimally invasive approaches.
