Dr. Sean Childs is a fellowship trained Adult Reconstructive Orthopedic Surgeon working primarily out of Clifton Springs Hospital. His fellowship training at Indiana University Health provided him extensive training in the comprehensive treatment of hip and knee disorders as well as reconstructive options for patients with failed or painful total knee and hip replacements. Initially growing up in Buffalo in hardworking, blue collar family, he obtained his B.S in Biology from Canisius College in Buffalo. He then went on to complete his medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society for his academic and clinical excellence. Upon completing medical school, Dr. Childs went on to complete his Orthopedic Surgical Residency at the University of Rochester, where he was exposed to a high volume of complex musculoskeletal injuries and fractures. At the completion of residency, he was awarded the Carl M. Harris Award for his outstanding dedication to patient care and education. His clinical interests include the treatment of hip and knee arthritis, total hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement, robotic and technology assisted total joint replacement, revision hip and knee reconstruction as well as general fracture care.
Currently, Dr. Childs lives in Victor, NY with his wife, son and their 12 year old Yorkshire terrier, Charz.
He enjoys staying active, skiing, drone based photography and craft beer. He has a love for the Finger Lakes Region and the beauty if provides.
