The collection consists of board minutes (1962-86); Care manuals; and scrapbooks (1948-1985). Also includes constitution and by-laws, 1929; meetings and reports (1980-85); and financial records from the 1970s and 1980s.
The Genesee Dietetic Association was founded as the Rochester Dietetic Association in 1924, the first dietetic association in the state. The NYSDA was founded in 1930 under leadership of RDA members. The name was changed to Genesee Dietetic Assoc. in 1958 to reflect the expanded membership. GDA targets services and nutritional information to its members, the community, and other health professionals in the greater Rochester area. The focus is on preventative and therapeutic nutrition throughout the life cycle.
