What is Interventional Radiology?

Interventional radiology is a specialty which utilizes imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive procedures. These procedures are different than conventional surgery in that typically no large incisions are made – most are performed through tiny nicks in the skin. This often means there is quicker recovery, less risk of infections and other complications, and nearly all of our treatments are outpatient procedures.
