About The Provider
Dr. Varon is currently the Division Head of Outpatient Cardiology at the Sands Constellation Heart Institute. He has been with Rochester Regional Health for Five years. Prior to that he was the founder and managing partner of University Cardiovascular Associates, affiliated with The University of Rochester Medical Center between 1993 and 2016. Dr. Varon obtained his B.S. in Psychology and Zoology from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 1981, his M.S. degree in Biology with an emphasis on genetics from Adelphi University in 1983 and his M.D. from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City in 1987. He first came to Rochester for his internship in 1987 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He remained at Strong Memorial Hospital for his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiology. He completed his cardiology training in 1993 and went into private practice In Cardiology. He continues to practice general noninvasive cardiology and routinely manages the care of patients with coronary disease, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, pacemakers and defibrillators, congestive heart failure, congenital heart disease, valvular heart disease and lipid abnormalities. He has extensive experience with cardiac noninvasive imaging including ambulatory monitoring, echocardiography, stress testing, nuclear testing, Cardiac CT and MRI.
