Surgery can be stressful to patients and their family. Dr. Vernenkar firmly believes that it's so important to make a connection with the patient early on to make them comfortable. They need to know he is looking out for them, and when under his care they will be treated as family.
Dr. Vernenkar was born and raised in Connecticut. He went to an international school in Denmark for six years during his High School years. His General Surgical training took place in a Level 1 Trauma Center in the Bronx, as well as Deborah Heart and Lung Center for Vascular Surgery. He was also Director of a Surgical Residency for 12 years at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx.
He moved to Rochester in 2013 and proudly serves the Eastern Region communities at Newark Community Hospital and Clifton Springs Hospital as a Surgeon, and Wound Care Specialist.
He loves history, reading mysteries, especially good British ones. Dr. Vernenkar is a dog lover (he has two Labs), and interested in the world at large. He loves international food.
