The Rochester Regional Health Behavioral Health Access and Crisis Center is available for those who need help with a mental health issue. The Center is an alternative to a trip to the emergency department for urgent mental health needs.
We are pleased to welcome adults, aged 18 and over, without an appointment on a walk-in basis. You may call ahead to be accepted as soon as space is available. Our behavioral health services are completely voluntary, and patients are free to come and go as they please. You'll experience a comfortable, relaxed environment filled with clinicians who can assist you with problem-solving and safety planning.
Adults 18 and over who need care may come to the Access and Crisis Center without an appointment on a walk-in basis. You may also call ahead to be accepted as soon as space is available. If there is a wait, we can give you an estimate of the current wait time before you can be seen.
Behavioral health services are completely voluntary with patients free to come and go as they please. You’ll experience a more comfortable, relaxed environment than at the emergency department.
Our licensed clinicians can assist you with problem solving and safety planning, and they can connect you to other programs and resources for a variety of ongoing mental health and substance use conditions.
We want you to be comfortable and prepared for your visit. Please call with any questions or concerns.
You are welcome to bring family members or friends with you for support. Please keep in mind that all visitors and patients must be 18 or older. You are welcome to come alone, as well.
If possible, please bring a copy of your insurance card and a photo ID.
You’ll sign in and get registered for services.
You will fill out some forms. Our staff can help with completing this paperwork if needed.
You’ll be asked to sign a release form. This allows our clinicians to discuss your care with other members of your treatment team, such as the provider who referred you and/or your primary care physician.
All services provided by the Access and Crisis Center follow state and federal regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
You will meet with a licensed clinician who will evaluate your needs to determine the next step in your care. You’ll discuss possible solutions for problem solving and treatment options that may meet your needs.
If needed, your clinician will refer you to another provider for further evaluation and care. Our goal is to help you easily transition to the provider who will be the best option for any additional treatment you may need.
The Access and Crisis Center may refer you to one of the many resources for care within the Rochester Regional Health system. We also make referrals to services and programs in the community that will best meet your needs.
