Dr. Hernady's philosophy of care is to treat the whole person. Treating the whole person includes treating the medical and psychological components of a patient's care. And, in pediatrics, it often includes not only treating the patient, but also being sure the child's parents/caregivers are involved and well-informed in the care of their children. Some of the greatest joy she gets out of her work is from the relationships with patients and their families that I have developed over my 21 years of practice. She feels like the best way to practice medicine is to give everything we can, every day, to provide each patient with the very best medical care.
Originally from California, Dr. Hernady moved to Rochester to attend the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and has been here ever since. She chose to stay here for her pediatric residency and start a family, and has been practicing medicine in the Rochester area since 2000. She has found it a pleasure to live in the town of Penfield, where she works, and to see her two children and their friends grow up. She has enjoyed watching as they become part of the community through their volunteer work and on their sports team. And now that her children are grown, Dr. Hernady still enjoys giving back every day through her work and pediatric practice.
Dr. Hernady loves anything outdoors–hiking, snow shoeing, photography, swimming, and gardening. She also loves spending time with family and friends.
