Dr. Gaudette is interested in how acquired brain injuries and disorders impact cognitive, behavioral, personality, and functional changes and problems. In addition, he strives to collaborate with, educate, and advise individuals with a brain injury on what they might do to compensate for cognitive, behavioral, and/or functional changes, as well as make referrals or provide counseling.
Since 1992, Dr. Gaudette has been a neuropsychologist with Unity Hospital's Brain Injury Rehab Program, where he has worked with thousands of individuals with various types of brain insults including traumatic brain injury, concussions, stroke, encephalitis, subarachnoid hemorrhage, anoxia, HIV, multiple sclerosis, and dementia.
Dr. Gaudette completed a doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the Indiana University in Pennsylvania, an internship in neuropsychology at West Haven - Yale VA Medical Center, and a post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
In addition to his work at Unity's Brain Injury Rehab Program, Dr. Gaudette is also a clinical faculty member in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Rochester Medical Center, and an adjunct faculty at Nazareth College where he co-teaches a course in cognitive rehabilitation in brain injury.
He enjoys exercising, biking, playing lacrosse and tennis, reading, and doing sudoku and crossword puzzles.
