Dr. Chin loves getting to know patients and hearing their stories. She feels that her job is to educate women about their bodies as they change over their lifespan. When it comes to medical problems, she tends to review all the treatment options, go over all the pros and cons, and she gently guides women toward the option that she thinks is best for them.
Dr. Chin was born in the Bronx to Asian American parents. As they were living with her grandparents, uncle, aunt, and cousins, her parents moved her and her sister to New Rochelle. She went to public school and participated in band, chorus, and theater. She worked at her Dad’s store on the weekends and when she was older she lifeguarded in the summers when she was not at Aaron Copeland Music and Arts Summer Camp. (Fun fact: She touched the Oscar award he won for the Heiress!) Dr. Chin went to NYU for undergrad and medical school. Her mentor at NYU had just finished her MFM fellowship at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, and highly recommended it. Dr. Chin moved here in 1996 and has been here ever since. Her first job out of residency was at the Canandaigua Medical Group affiliated with FF Thompson Hospital. She was recruited to Unity Hospital in 2003. Additionally, Dr. Chin has been recognized by the Surgical Review Corporation Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) designated physician and Master Surgeon in Minimally Invasive Gynecology, a demonstration of her expertise in minimally invasive surgical approaches for women. She lives in Brighton with her wife and 2 kids.
Music is Dr. Chin's passion. She loves to sing and dance. She plays piano, guitar, and oboe. (Fun facts: She placed 3rd in a ballroom dance competition at NYU, and sang the Star Spangled Banner at Frontier Field for Unity Health System Red Wings Night back in 2012). In the summer, Dr. Chin likes to bike, hike, swim, and in the winter, she enjoys cross country and downhill skiing. Year-round, she is always going on adventures with her family and taking photos along the way. The framed pictures in her office document some of her travels.
